Recognising that green buildings are an impactful and cost-effective path towards reducing GHG emissions, Cagamas Berhad (“Cagamas”), in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (“IFC”) of the World Bank Group, proudly hosted the Green Buildings Finance Forum on 6 May 2025 in Kuala Lumpur. This impactful event brought together representatives from both public and private sector to accelerate climate-smart investments in Malaysia’s housing finance industry, in line with Cagamas' five-year 'House of the Future' strategic plan.

The Forum served as a vital platform to empower financial institutions, developers, rating agencies, consulting firms, regulators and government agencies with the tools and insights needed to build robust pipelines of green building projects—while effectively managing environmental, social, and climate-related risks. Through open dialogue and knowledge sharing, participants explored policy considerations, regional case studies and discussed the challenges to sustainable and affordable housing development.

The event kicked off with inspiring opening remarks by Ms. Judith Green, Country Manager for Malaysia at the World Bank Group, and Encik Kameel Abdul Halim, President/Chief Executive Officer of Cagamas. The day continued with a series of insightful presentations and dynamic panel discussions, sparking meaningful conversations among developers, property owners, financial institutions, and policymakers.

Together, we’re building a greener, more resilient future—one sustainable home at a time.
